Maintenance Technician

Campus Village Communities (CVC) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician for our community located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

This is a part-time position with weekday and/or weekend hours, with possible shifts/hours in the morning, afternoon and/or evening. The eligible candidate must also be available for emergency after-hours calls as needed. Additional hours may be required during certain times of the year, which include turn-season, July-September. Two+ years of multifamily maintenance and/or student housing maintenance experience is desired.

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Respond quickly and courteously to resident requests for maintenance service, troubleshooting the source of the problem and taking appropriate action to repair and or restore service
  •  Assist in monitoring maintenance inventory and/or supplies and related expenses
  •  Complete work orders, attach applicable receipts, and return to the maintenance department each day; ensure proper documentation is left for residents
  •  Report any maintenance concerns for repair on vacant and/or common areas to the maintenance office
  • Maintain building by performing plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC, and other related maintenance activities
  •  Meticulously maintain curb appeal, keeping grounds and common areas clean, smelling nice and free of trash/debris
  •  Prepare all vacant apartments to a market-ready condition
  •  Perform on-call emergency service as required

  •  Team player who works well independently and is self-motivated
  •  Ability to multi-task and be conscious of quality and accuracy
  •  Keen eye and detailed attention to community curb appeal
  •  Professional attitude, as well as terrific customer service skills
  •  Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
  •  Professional and neat appearance is mandatory
  •  Ability to operate needed tools and equipment
  •  Must possess and maintain own hand tools
  •  Ability to climb ladders, work on interior and exterior roofs and/or high areas
  •  Have/possess a basic tool kit to perform job duties/requirements
  •  Must possess a valid driver’s license
